Our Challenge:

Ministry to men is tough. It always has been. We face a number of barriers in helping men connect with Christ and experience the dynamic adventure of life in Christ. These barriers include cultural, generational, lifestyle, education, personality preferences, etc. Paul recognized this when he said "… I have become all things to all men …" (1 Cor 9:22). What works in connecting with one man may not work for the next. What works in one church may not work for the next. We need to understand that the battle is not ours, it is the Lord's. We need wisdom in reaching men. The fundamental challenge is to surrender our methods, plans and ways and become instruments in the hands of the Holy Spirit. Dan Schaffer, founder of Building Brothers, states, "Effective men's ministry is the process of developing relationships that become the platform for change." Establishing those relationships, either individually or as a group, means being aware the barriers and finding ways to overcome them.

It is not about us. It is about one another.

Living the call together,

Len
