2011 National Leadership Actions
Eighteen men's ministrys leaders from twelve C&MA districts met in Atlanta, GA, February 4-5, 2011 for their annual leadership meeting. They took the following actions:
  • Received the 2010 Stakeholders Report.
  • Received annual and financial reports.
  • Established initial plans for 2011 General Council.
  • Assessed the effectiveness of our Go Strategy and agreed to continue the strategy and implement a District Go Strategy.
  • Re-established the Alliance Construction Team under Terry Dorr's leadership.
  • Defined an overarching ministry focus with "Getting It Right" as the 2011-2012 theme.

 
Rocky Mountain District Men's Advance

The men of the Rocky Mountain District will have their annual men's retreat, Friday, February 25 thru Sunday Morning, February 27. The speaker will be Dave Dusek. Dave is the founder of Rough Cut Men. He is a field director with Florida Men of Integrity and a field staff director with Discipleship Network of America. He is also an associate trainer with Gread Dads, a national fathering ministry. The advance will be held at the Holiday Inn Grand Montana Hotel in Billings, MT. Ruffner Appoints New Leadership Team
Len Ruffner, C&MA Men's Ministry National Director, has appointed the following men to the National Leadership Team:
  • Ted Cardenas - Spanish Central District
  • Terry Dorr - Mid-Atlantic District (Alliance Construction Team)
  • Sean Herr - Hmong District Men's Ministry Coordinator
  • Paul Hille - Great Lakes District Men's Ministry Coordinator
  • Jimmy Johnson - Southern District Men's Ministry Coordinator
  • Bob Sackmann - South-Atlantic District Men's Ministry Coordinator
  • Les Tripp - Southern District (Communications)
  • Jim Woods - Rocky Mountain District Men's Ministry Coordinator(Short=Term Missions)
  • Dan Wetzel continues as our National Office representative.

 

 
National Leadership Team and Forum Actions
Five members of the C&MA Men's Ministry National leadership Team met February 26 in Atlanta GA. The team took the following actions: assessed the 2009 Go Strategy; proposed a brief survey to assist district coordinators in assessing the status of men's ministries in district churches; ; developed a strategy for selling Catalyst on-line; and reviewed increases in subscriptions for the eNewsletter and users accessing the website.

Nine members of the C&MA Men's Ministry National Leadership Forum (board of directors), representing four districts, met February 26-27 in Atlanta, GA. The team took the following actions: nominated Len Ruffner for a second four-year term as national Director; reviewed ministry progress during 2009; and assessed the ministry revenue stream.

 
2011 Annual C&MA Men Leadership Meetings

  • The C&MA Men's Ministry National Leadership Team will meet Friday, February 4, 2011, at the Comfort Suites Airport Hotel, Atlanta The team will progress on ministry projects and map actions for the future.
  • The National Leadership Forum (our board of directors) consisting of the leadership team and district coordinators will meet Friday evening for the annual business meeting. The business meeting agenda includes review of the 2010 annual report, and financing the ministry.
  • Saturday, February 5 is set aside for equipping district coordinators to facilitate Dr. Monty Winters, Director for Disciplemaking & Ministry Studies for The Christian and Missionary Alliance, will conduct a seminar on Disciplemaking,

Ruffner Appointed to Second Term
Rev. John Soper, vice president of Church Ministries has appointed Len Ruffner to a second term as national director of C&MA Men's Ministry. Ruffner, of Linwood, NC, is a member of Grace Alliance Church, Lexington, NC, and has served on the National Leadership Team since 2002. Ruffner is also on the South-Atlantic District Men's Ministry Leadership Team.
